Hello Kernels!
The 2013 Popcorn Sale is underway. Hopefully you have held you popcorn kickoff and have scouts informed that they can be taking orders door-to-door right now. I know several scouts that have sold over $300 in popcorn already. Getting out early is a great strategy.
Kickoff your Sale. Inform your Scouts and families about your great plans for the popcorn sale. Sharing your unit’s expectations of each family, including the Scout’s individual goal will ensure success. If you haven’t scheduled your Kickoff yet, remember that it should be done before Sept 23 and if you hold a popcorn kickoff, you receive an extra 1% commission.
Finalize your Show-N-Sell order by this Thursday 9/6. Show & Sell orders are due to the Dan Beard Council via the Trail’s End website. Units are encouraged to enter this information early to avoid the popcorn system congestion that can occur if we all try to enter our orders at the same time. Only 4 Trailblazer units have placed there order to date. Let’s get those orders in.
Mystery Houses are out there! - The homeowners are developing their clues that should be released this week. Each Mystery House prize will include a $200 gift card plus other fun items. Let’s knock on all the doors out there.
Plan to help sort Show-N-Sell orders and pick up your popcorn on 9/20. The details about the popcorn sort and warehouse location are being worked out. Indications from the Council Popcorn site are that “Units and individuals that wish to volunteer on Friday to help sort popcorn orders may take delivery that evening.” Not sure if this means that other units will be picking up their orders on Saturday, but don’t risk it. Line up a volunteer or two from your Troop or Pack to help sort and make sure you can hit the streets selling early Saturday morning. Send me these names as soon as you can to avoid having me call you.
